Where each one can actually go
This is the difference that decides more commutes than speed does. An e-bike uses bike lanes, most multi-use paths, park routes and quiet cut-throughs — the whole parallel network that exists alongside the roads. On a congested urban route that network is frequently the faster one, because it isn’t where the traffic is.
