The 2026 sale calendar, as far as it is actually known

“Black Friday” is no longer a day, and for bike gear it isn’t really a weekend either. Here is what is confirmed for 2026, and what isn’t:

  • October 6–7, 2026 — Prime Big Deal Days. Amazon has confirmed its October event for Prime members.
  • November 1, 2026 — daylight saving time ends. Clocks go back on the first Sunday in November, and for many commuters the ride home moves into the dark almost four weeks before Black Friday. That date matters more for lights than any sale does.
  • November 27, 2026 — Black Friday, and November 30 — Cyber Monday.
  • Not yet announced: Amazon’s 2026 Black Friday event dates. We won’t guess. For reference, Amazon’s 2025 Black Friday Week and Cyber Monday events ran from November 20 through December 1.

E-bike brands stretch things further still. Electric Bike Report put it plainly after the 2025 season: Black Friday e-bike deals haven’t been “just one weekend” for years, and the industry has turned the whole of November into a discount period.

What has historically gone on sale — and what rarely does

We went looking for published evidence of Black Friday discounts in each category this site covers. Where we found it, it is cited below with the publication and the date. Where we didn’t, we say so instead of filling the gap with a guess. Nothing in this section is a prediction for 2026 — past sales are a guide to what is possible, not a promise of what will happen.

E-bikes: the clearest Black Friday history, mostly off Amazon

E-bikes are the category with the most real Black Friday activity. Electrek’s curated list of 2025 Black Friday e-bike deals featured Lectric, Priority, Ride1Up, JackRabbit, Aventon and Velotric — and every one of those deals was on the brand’s own website. The budget brands that sell on Amazon ran sales too, but again largely elsewhere: Jasion launched its 2025 Black Friday sale on November 7 on its own site, and GOTRAX ran its deals from November 27 through December 1 on its website and at Walmart and Best Buy. We found no reliable report of the Amazon listings for the budget e-bikes we rank being discounted for Black Friday 2025, so we won’t tell you to expect it.

Two cautions from the same sources. Black Friday is not always the low point: Electrek reported that a Heybike cargo e-bike hit a new all-time low in the brand’s Christmas sale in December 2025, below the price it reached on Black Friday, while a Velotric bundle was simply matching its Black Friday price. And some brands don’t cut much at all — Electrek noted that Lectric’s year-round prices are already so fair it can’t cut base prices much further. If you’re shortlisting, our best electric bikes for commuting and best e-bikes under $1,000 are the place to start.

Bike trackers: a real Black Friday record, and an earlier low this year

Apple’s AirTag has a documented Black Friday history on Amazon. MacRumors reported that on Black Friday 2025 the AirTag 4-pack reached a new best-ever price and the single AirTag matched its all-time low. But the AirTag 2 — the version we recommend — didn’t wait for the holidays: MacRumors and 9to5Toys both reported record-low Amazon prices for it in late August and early September 2026. The lesson is that the lowest price can arrive in any month, which is why the buy button above shows today’s live price and any discount Amazon is reporting. Our guide to bike anti-theft devices explains what a tag can and can’t do.

Helmets: some makers say outright they rarely discount

Thousand, whose Heritage 2.0 is our top commuter helmet, has stated on its own website that it “rarely offers deals, coupons, or promo codes” — a statement dated 2021 and last updated in 2022, so treat it as a brand position rather than a current guarantee either way. For helmets generally, the bigger risk is buying the wrong size because it was on sale; a helmet only protects if it fits.

Locks, lights, panniers and fenders: no reliable pattern we could find

We looked for reliable reporting of Black Friday discounts on the specific locks, lights, panniers and fenders we rank — Kryptonite and ABUS locks, NiteRider and Cygolite lights, Ortlieb panniers, SKS fenders — and did not find enough to call it a pattern. That doesn’t mean none of them will be discounted this year. It means nobody can honestly promise you they will, and that includes us.

Winter gear: the deepest markdowns tend to come after winter

We found no cycling-specific evidence here, but there is a general outdoor-clothing example: Popular Science reported in February 2026 that REI had winter jackets and coats at their lowest prices of the year. That is a sale that arrives after the cold does — useful for next winter, not much help to someone whose hands are freezing on the ride in this December.

Buy now or wait for November? Our call, class by class

This is our editorial judgment, built on the evidence above and on what each product actually does for a commuter. It is not a price forecast.

Product classOur callWhy
LightsBuy now if they ride after darkThe clocks go back almost four weeks before Black Friday, and we found no reliable discount pattern for the lights we rank.
LocksBuy now if they use a cable or nothingA stolen bike costs far more than a lock discount could save, and we found no reliable Black Friday pattern.
E-bikesWorth watching November, if you can waitThe clearest sale history of any category — mostly on brand websites — though some December sales have gone lower.
TrackersBuy when the live price suits youAirTags were discounted for Black Friday 2025, but the AirTag 2 already hit record lows in August and September 2026.
HelmetsBuy once the size is confirmedSome makers say they rarely discount, and a helmet in the wrong size is no deal at any price.
Winter gearBuy before the first cold snapThe deepest outerwear markdowns we found came after winter, not before it.
Panniers, racks, fendersBuy once the fit is checkedNo reliable Black Friday pattern found; the costly mistake here is the wrong size, not the wrong week.
GiftsLeave time for an exchangeSizes and fit checks mean some gifts go back; buying earlier leaves room to swap before the holiday.

How to tell a real deal from a fake one

  1. Be skeptical of the “was” price. Under the FTC’s pricing guides, a former price is a fair comparison only if it was the real price the product sold at for a reasonably substantial period; an inflated one makes the bargain “a false one”. A list price far above what a product actually sells for is misleading too. When our buy buttons show a struck-through list price and a percentage, those are Amazon’s own figures — useful, but not proof of a bargain.
  2. Check the price history. Consumer Reports recommends tools like CamelCamelCamel, Honey and Keepa, noting that prices can change from day to day and even during the day. The UK consumer group Which? tracked 175 home, tech and health appliances at eight retailers, Amazon among them, and found 83 per cent were the same price or cheaper at least once outside the four-week Black Friday period. Different products, same lesson.
  3. Make sure it’s the same product. The FTC’s advice is to read the terms of any advertised deal. With bike gear, check the size, the color, the model year and what’s actually in the box before comparing a sale price with one you saw earlier.
  4. Be wary of brand names at bargain prices. The FTC warns that expensive brand-name items at bargain prices could be counterfeit or stolen. For a lock or a helmet, a fake is a safety problem, not just a bad purchase.
  5. Pay by credit card. The FTC notes that paying by credit card best protects you if something goes wrong, because you can dispute the charge.

How we’ll post deals on this page

Electrek’s Micah Toll was blunt about most Black Friday roundups in 2025: “lazy publications or AI-concoctions” that throw dozens or hundreds of affiliate links at readers. We would rather post five real deals than fifty links, so when deals go live in November, this page follows a few simple rules:

  • Only products we already research and rank on this site.
  • Every deal checked on the live listing when it is posted, and dated.
  • Prices shown only through the same live price feed as every buy button on the site — never typed in by hand, and never left up after they expire.
  • No “up to X% off” headlines, and no predicted prices.
  • If a “deal” is no better than a price we saw earlier in the year, we will say so.

Until then, if you’re buying for someone else, our stocking stuffers, gifts under $50, gifts under $100 and luxury gifts are sorted by budget, and our guides to gifts for e-bike riders and gifts for new cyclists are sorted by who you’re buying for.

Frequently asked questions

When is Black Friday 2026?

Black Friday is Friday, November 27, 2026, the day after Thanksgiving, and Cyber Monday is Monday, November 30. Amazon had not announced its 2026 Black Friday event dates when we last checked; for reference, its 2025 Black Friday Week and Cyber Monday events ran from November 20 through December 1. Amazon's Prime Big Deal Days, for Prime members, is set for October 6-7, 2026.

Do e-bikes go on sale on Black Friday?

Historically, many e-bike brands have run Black Friday sales — Electrek's 2025 list included Lectric, Aventon, Ride1Up, Velotric and others — but mostly on the brands' own websites rather than Amazon. Sales now stretch across November, and some brands' later holiday sales have gone lower than their Black Friday prices. We don't predict what any specific e-bike will cost this year.

Should I wait for Black Friday to buy bike lights or a lock?

If they're riding without decent lights or with a cable lock now, we wouldn't wait. Daylight saving time ends on November 1, almost four weeks before Black Friday, and we found no reliable evidence that the lights and locks we rank are routinely discounted for it. A stolen bike or a dark ride home costs more than a discount would save.

Are Black Friday prices really the lowest of the year?

Not reliably. The UK consumer group Which? tracked 175 appliances at eight retailers including Amazon and found 83 per cent were the same price or cheaper at least once outside the four-week Black Friday period. In our own category, a Heybike e-bike hit a lower price in its December 2025 Christmas sale than on Black Friday, and the AirTag 2 reached record-low prices on Amazon in August and September 2026. Checking a price-history tool is the best protection.

Does Amazon discount AirTags for Black Friday?

It did in 2025: MacRumors reported the AirTag 4-pack at a new best-ever price on Amazon and the single pack matching its all-time low on Black Friday. For the AirTag 2, MacRumors and 9to5Toys reported record-low Amazon prices in late August and early September 2026. We don't predict what it will cost in November; the buy button on this page always shows today's live price.

Will you post Black Friday bike deals on this page?

Yes. When Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals go live in November, we'll add the verified ones here: products we already cover, checked on the live listing, dated, with prices from the same live price feed as every button on the site, and removed when they end. No 'up to' headlines, no predicted prices.
